Spontanous Vaca

Up at Three Corners.
So this past five days has been the deer hunt here in the great state of Utah. This is actually a time I dread...I'm not a fan of hunters. Hunting I'm fine with its the hunters I'm not. Well I married into a family, that vacation is saved up for only hunting...MAJOR ADJUSTMENT!! As you know from a previous post, I really dislike camping, so there was NO WAY I was going to go up there. Well I finally decided Friday that I would go up that night and we'd be home Saturday night, so we could go to church. Ended up coming home Sunday morning. Well Sunday afternoon/evening Koda was on his way back up...and I just had a very sad and lonely feeling. I missed my husband. I had hardley seen him at all this whole month. So I called him up and away we went as well. I wouldn't say I had fun, but it was ok. I was able to spend some time with Koda and my girls did wonderful for camping their first time. Hunting, frankly, is boring, much like camping. It was cold and very windy. The girls had a blast though. I know it was the right thing to do, even though I left my house in complete disarry. Anyways some fun pictures!

Ready to go hunting, got all dad's stuff on!

MIA

Lately you've probably noticed I've been seriously Missing In Action. I'd love to say it was because I was throughly deep cleaning my house and it is now spotless...but I have a two yearold and a 10 month old, NOT POSSIBLE! Actually its because we've been having so much fun this weekend, which is a great reason to be MIA.

My brother and a couple of his roomates came out this weekend so we went and met them Friday and then were back out at the ranch Saturday and Sunday as well. Daisy was SO happy to see her Uncle Ty I wish I had gotten a picture of her running to him. She never left his side. She also got to riding Friday and Saturday...She loves it, everymoring I have to explain once again why we can't go "RIDE" that day. She's my daughter no doubt about that. I was also able to get some Salsa canned. It is wonderful. I used the reciepe from Get off Your Butt and Bake. Love her blog!

Monday I got most of my laundry done and my kitchen windows washed, now I just need to get the rest of the house's washed. We also stopped by and talked to my in-laws for a while that night. Lots of good converstation and Daisy and Page got to play with their cousins.

Tuesday is usally my cleaning day, I usually can't go much longer then a week without doing a through cleaning of my house. Like moping and dusting, and the bathroom. Well Koda didn't have to go to work, so we went up and visited his dad at camp (he's still elk hunting! and tommorrow he'll head up to deer hunt.) Then we stopped by my parents place and ate some yummy mutton steaks with them. Also found out my sister has set a wedding date...Feb 26, 2011. So Congrats to her, So excited!

So here it is Wednesday and I have a mile long To-Do list since I've been putting everything off. But I've gotten the laundry folded and the bathroom cleaned, as well as all the dusting done. Next is the sweeping and the moping then I'll pickup the Living Room and the girls room and get to Vaccuming. Then hopefully I'll be able to get some more windows done.

Also So sorry about no pictures, I have a bunch from this weekend I want to upload, but blogger won't let me at the moment. So hopefully soon.

Some more interesting things happening in my life. Page has decided she is no longer intersted in nursing, she's cut herself down to two almost once a day...its sad...but I'm ok with it. So I've been trying to get her to take a bottle or a sippy (I would much prefer the sippy...didn't work) with something in it. I've tried everything, last night she took a bottle with just plain old milk, now I know that your suppose to wait till they are a year old, but if thats what she wants, that's what I'll give her. She again took it just now for her nap, so our nursing days may be over. I've also completed most of Daisy's halloween costume and since its a dress she wants to wear it all the time. Also Koda should be off tommorrow and then for like 14 days!!! Some of that he'll be deer hunting but oh well. I'm happy!

Have a great day Ya'll!!!

Disney Favorites

At my house we don't have TV of any kind; antenae, cable, dish, satillite. Yep nothing. So we have a lot of shows and many of those shows are Disney. My daughter loves the cartoons, just like I do. So I have to share some of my favorite sayings/quotes from the shows I can think of (Ok so the ones that make me laugh out loud every time). Do you know what show they came from?
"Your a Toy!!!"
"Father, your living in the past, after all it is the fourteeth century."

"Don't look at me I ain't biting no more butts."
"Think, Think, Think."
"Now lets eat before this crab wanders off my plate."

 "Sir; your blood pressure!"
"Afterall what's dinner without a little music?"

"I'm a butterfly, a beautiful butterfly."

"I'm a damsel, I'm in distress, Have a nice day."
"And we talk too."

So do you know the shows? Here I'll give you the answers. And you'll have to listen more closely. So funny.
1. Toystory
2. Sleeping Beauty
3. Mulan
4.Winnie The Pooh
5. Little Mermaid
6. Cinderella
7. Beauty and The Beast
8. Bugs Life
9. Herculus
10. Princess and The Frog

Randomness Monday

I have so many random thoughts and ideas running through my mind, that I'm just going to do a list.
  • With Koda working swings (gone from 12-noon- and home at 2am) we've been eating lunch about 11-11:30, which I've found, Daisy really likes and she actually eats lunch.
  • Page is growing up so fast. She is all into standing up next to everything and trying to cruise.
  • I must be getting old, for some shows with boys that I thought were SO CUTE!!! Look like little kids, totally! Example, Wally in Leave It To Beaver...
  • Elk Hunt is on, so the inlaws only have one thought on their mind. They are hunting the base of blue, so of course thats was my stomping ground growing up...ya totally didn't know there was elk and deer up there...I was trained to look for sheep, cows, and open gates. haha I'm a ranch girl.
  • On the downhill slide of my laundry.
  • Coke is amazing and gets the working man pants so clean.
  • My brother ran the Marine course at school for weight traing (it was optional) and he did it in 2:20, my sisters fiance is a Marine and he did it in 2:19...Way to go Carson You could be a Marine. He said No, its to hard he'll stick to ranching!
  • Got our family pics back. SO CUTE!
  • Got my Christmas cards made, just need to order them.
  • We are trying the potty training thing again, Daisy has decided that she wants to wear panties, so far, we've got the concept down of when I go I need to go to the bathroom and get new panties, hasn't sunk in yet that you have to get to the bathroom before you go.
  • My girls defintaly have Chew blood in them...slim pants only, especially Daisy now, since she's no longer wanting to have a truck butt and wants panties. Can't find anything that fits her in the waist or length, and she's short for her age!
  • I have no idea what to do for Christmas....No idea...
  • Was able to get my All about Christmas package done and shipped off...somebody should be getting a suprise oh about Thursday or Friday! I'll do a seperate post with pics later.
  • Made steak Kabobs for lunch. So delicious! Defintaly a keeper.
  • Daisy loves her puppies, they play together so good. I just hope they don't get to rough here in a few weeks.
  • Been watching the 10th kingdom...almost done.
  • I've got some craft projects and snack projects that I'm going to do with Rashell, now to figure a day to do it!
  • I'm trying to decide whether to do personal photo books each year for each of my kids or if I should just do yearly family books. I think I've decide to just do digital books and then but all my other pics on cd for the kids. I just don't have the room to store all those photos, and I don't have the time to scrapbook them, or put them in a photo album. What do you think?
  • I went through my phone pics and loaded them onto my computer...totally random...do you want to see?
Ok these first two pics happened today. Page Crawled out onto the porch and started to eat my dirt in my flower planter. She's done this before. She's not to happy  with the taste, but I had to capture the moment.

This is a picture of the baby quilt I sent in to Fence Post Agriculture Quilt Contest in July. I had the material all cut out and ready, but I no longer wanted it. So since all the quilts entered into this contest went to charity I made it and entered it. It was the first time I've quilted with minky...not a fan...and I thought it wasn't the best, but it was going to charity so I sent it in. I recieved 2nd place...Way to go Marlynn!

Daisy and Page with there Papa's puppies...these are about 4 weeks older then ours. So way wild right now. This was taken about three weeks ago.

Daisy helping with Chores. She loves the horses, cows, and sheep. She loves to go riding any chance she gets. In fact today she informed me that She was going riding and went off marching towards the field to catch her horse. Ya she's my daughter.

Our family Picture for 2010. My good buddy Chelsie took these pictures and I love how they turned out. I'll post more pics later on.
Hope you have a wonderful monday!

Momma Thoughts

Lately I've been thinking lots on the role of motherhood and how tedious, joyful, fullfilling, frustrating, and new it is. (Ok the list really goes on and on....) Your first baby it is a how new adventure. You have NO idea what your doing or how to do it...Its probably that way all through their life, for they are the first to hit those new stages. The following children are a bit easier, you've already had one, so you know what to try etc. Well I've come up with a list of things I've discovered helps me when I have to discipline Daisy and it actually seems to make the terrible two's not too bad...(eek Hope I have jinxed myself!)
  • When the fits start in the house I say "If your going to throw a fit, go to your room." She usually will stop and think about this and decide then if she's going to continue or stop. If she continue's I have to follow through and put her in her room. To bad I can't carry her room for when we are in the grocery store...
  • If she makes a mess...she helps cleans it up. I've only had broken eggs once...she has not repeated that one....yet....
  • Choose your battles and be consistant. You can't pick to fight jumping off furniture one day and not the next.
  • Follow through on all punishments and rewards. They do remember.
  • You've got to let some things go and not fight it or else you have what you would call a disobedient child and your relationship will be tough.
  • And my favorite thought from general conferance this week. "If it would offend you if you seen your children do it, then you don't do it...your the example."~ Sorry I can't remember who said it and I'm sure I kinda paraphrased it, but isn't it wonderful and so true!

So totally random but it may also be useful to those new parents with babies still. I know I've got a long ways to go and I'm excited for each step that we will be taking as parents.

Outta This Rut

Oh this feels good. I'm getting out of this rut I've been in for the past month and a half. I'm starting to feel like my normal self again! Whoppee!! And after tommorrow I'll feel even better, for my house will be completely clean. Last week I let it all go, I had such a bad head cold and I was getting migraines, Never had them, Ya they SUCK!!
So I'm starting to feel motivated and get things done, more than just to live.

-I've orgainzed my food storage onto my new shelf in my storage unit.
-Inlaws came and got their carpet out of my storage unit.
-Went through more clothes I've had for kids in storage, DI'd plenty.
-Put up corn.
-Put up carrots.
-Starting to sew again.
-Brave enough to try my dish washer out...It works!

Also tonight we did family home evening for the first time ever. I never was raised with it and neither was Koda. But I've decided that I'm going to do it. I need to let my children know that what they learn at church is also strongly belived at home. Since it is mostly for my children and they are two and under, I purchased the Nursery lesson book and am doing the lessons from there. Tonight we learned about how we are children of God. I'm glad Daisy is starting to want to participate and listen. Maybe not much, but it works. Thats why the Nursery book is so nice, already shortened for those little rambunctios chillens.

Anyways, I'm on my way out and motivation is hitting me. A good thing since I have some deadlines to meet with some sewing items...
