Quilt #1 done

Well I've finished my first UFO project from 2010 the other day. Remember my Patriotic Pinwheel quilt that I had a few ladies help me with back in May/June last year. Well I finally took it off my husbands gun bench, quilted it up, binded it, and wa-la its finished. :) Only took me two afternoons to finish it...in all reality less then 12 hrs. Thats actually sad seeing how its been sitting there for oh about six months or more waiting to be finished. But hey I'm starting the new year off good! What do you think? I like it.

Daisy Likes it too.

Pinwheel Progress

Lookie Lookie here, I've gotten all my blocks from my block exchange that I told you about earlier. Remember there was six of us, we made two different blocks each and this is what came forth! I think it looks great. Now I just need to decide how to lay it out and how/what to use for my sashing. I'm trying really hard to have this done by July 1st so I can have it on my couch by the 4th. Hope it works out!

A few interesting notes of observation:
1. We all used different fabric designs/colors. Critieria: Red, White, & Blue, What variations!
2. 3 of us used the same pattern twice (six blocks are the same pattern) but you can't tell because of the different colors that everyone used.
4. It turned out great!

Blocks, Blocks, Blocks

Its been a block party here at my house the last couple of days. I organized a block exchange with five other ladies from around the basin here. We are doing a Patriotic Pinwheel block exchange. Each of us are doing two different pinwheel blocks six times each then we will exchange them with each other and end up with 12 different blocks to use in our quilt. The criteria is:

  • must be pinwheel patterns

  • must be done in red, white, and/or blue

  • 12" finished squares
I got the inspriation on day when I was blog hopping and came across p.s. i quilt's blog and her pinwheel quilt-a-long (I'm sure some of you know of it), well the thought came, hey I should do something like that only an exchange. So I got some ladies to agree and WA-LA we had a group. Our goal is to have all the blocks done by June 15th so we can get our quilts finished by July 4th.
